Window Store revisited an installation from a few months ago in Kirkcaldy. There were over 22 items fitted in total using contemporary doors, french doors and windows we completed within the week to ensure minimum disturbance to the homeowners.

The thermal camera can't lie, so here are the results of a double glazing installation in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, where you can see before and after FLIR videos from Window Store.

In this video, we explain how condensation on the outside of your windows is normal and indicate that your double glazing is highly energy-efficient, keeping the warm air in your home and preventing the temperature from dropping to the same conditions that are causing condensation outside.

David John McIvor is a Former Scottish rugby International who won six caps for Scotland in the mid-90s. He has given the contract of supplying all the windows and doors in his new home to Fife Company Window Store, having used them in the past. They were the only choice for the McIvor family, with some potentially tricky frames to be achieved in this non-standard build.

We made a full-size stormtrooper for our Kirkcaldy showroom, which has gone down a storm. He is a real ice breaker with little to do with windows, but he is so popular with visiting kids, both young and old, and he is white upvc.

We supplied all the windows and doors for this fantastic home just completed in Scotland. We delivered an extremely high specification in anthracite grey uPVC to Bissett's design and build and their customer's wishes.

They knew exactly what they wanted, and we can see why—with a location like that, utilising glazing to maximise the stunning views. We have been dealing with Dougie for over ten years now and are incredibly proud to be doing so.

New innovative hybrid doors are now fitted to our Kirkcaldy Fife showroom. This Aberdeen range is being rolled out to all our customers and has been in significant demand. They can be made in various sizes and colours, and they have stainless steel hardware and multi-point locking systems, all triggered by a 3-star anti-snap barrel.

With the industry awash with Composite fibreglass skinned doors, it is time to move upwards and onwards and offer our potential customers an alternative in the new Aberdeen range of superior uPVC doors over the last few months. We have had a lot of interest in this range as there are fewer size and lead time restrictions. Our owner, Graeme Smart, has had one in his house for over ten years.

Michael started with us over 4 years ago as a fenestration apprentice, and one of the tasks we set him was to strip down a uPVC window totally and reassemble it, so he was fully acquainted with every aspect of our product

Like most homeowners with old woodgrain or rosewood windows, this Window Store customer has taken action and swapped out everything with french windows and a contemporary door. You can see the excellent result.

We replaced all the rosewood windows and doors in this property. Then the customer had it totally re-harled and changed all the roof trim and gutters from brown. As you can see, you can achieve anything if you have the foresight our customer had here.

We finished this window with a full light mahogany finish in 2015, generally used to replace a previously fully finished window to avoid redecoration. Since then, tastes and prices of timber have significantly changed, and our most requested finish now is a primed white MDF finish similar to what you would receive in a new property.

Removing and replacing internal beads on an uPVC door and hinge blocking correctly so the door sash sits square in the outer frame is the best method for an uPVC door that has dropped without messing around with the hinges. This video is old now, but the same principles apply. You just need to look at the views it has.

Upvc window handle replacement, often called an espag handle. The screw holes are universal across the uPVC industry. The only thing that differs is the spindle length, which can be cut to size. If it's too big, replacing it only takes minutes, even with no previous knowledge and specialist tools.

This hinge is used mostly on composite fibreglass skinned doors as it has 360-degree adjustment. It is popular due to its versatility and quality build. We no longer sell this door or hinge, but the video is still being found useful. We have moved on to the Superior Aberdeen door range.

The tilt-and-turn window is the most popular window used on the upper floor of properties. It can be brought in for easy cleaning and a fire escape as it makes the entire opening available for access. You can also fit simple blinds to the glass area to avoid the blinds colliding with the opening sash. This was filmed in 2009, and Graeme is still in the showroom six days a week.
